Fall 2010 Pirates sailing schedule
HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University sailing team released its fall 2010 schedule on Monday, a slate that includes two potential home regattas.
The Pirates will open the season on Sept. 11-12 at the Old Dominion Riley Cup in Norfolk, Va., before hosting their first regatta of the season on Sept. 18-19 in the Edward Teach Memorial at Strawberry Banks.
From there, Hampton will head to the Colony Cup Invitational in Williamsburg, Va. on Sept. 25-26, before competing in the South #1 hosted by St. Mary's College in St. Mary's City, Md. on Oct. 2-3 and the South #2 hosted by Georgetown University in Alexandria, Va. on Oct. 9-10.
The Pirates will head to Charlottesville, Va. on Oct. 16-17 for the Virginia Invitational, before competing in The Webb Invitational at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Va. on Oct. 23-24.
The weekend of Oct. 30-31 will see the Pirates either compete in the War Memorial in Geneva, N.Y. or host the Henry Luce Regatta at Strawberry Banks, depending on qualifying scenarios.
The Atlantic Cost Tournament will be held Nov. 13-14, before the Pirates close out the fall campaign on Nov. 20-21 by heading to Newport News, Va. for The Turkey 2-on-2.
