Hampton, Va. - The Hampton University community mourns the loss of Theo Smalling. Smalling died on Monday, Oct. 26 at approximately 8:40 p.m. at the age of 22. Smalling, captain of the HU Men’s Basketball team, was involved in a senseless accident on Oct. 24.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Jordan Stovall nailed a 30-yard field goal with less than eight seconds remaining in regulation to send the game to overtime as the Pirates scored 10 unanswered points in the last 5:23 of the game to tie it up 10-10. Steve Robinson cashed in from 11 yards out to give the Pirates a 16-13 overtime win over Winston-Salem State during the Rams’ Homecoming at Bowman Gray Stadium.

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. – Hampton University junior Jahlisa Smith won the 2009 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women’s cross country individual title at Maryland-Eastern Shore on Saturday morning, helping the Lady Pirates to a fourth-place finish in the 2009 MEAC Championships.
