PRINCETON, N.J. – Five members of the Hampton University men's track & field team will head to the campus of Princeton University this weekend to compete in the 2010 IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the William Weaver Track & Field Stadium on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The Pirates' 4x100-meter relay team, fresh off its record-setting performance this past weekend in the MEAC Outdoor Championships, will make the trip. The foursome of junior Aaron Anderson (Fort Washington, Md.), sophomore Reggie Dixon (Plainfield, N.J.), junior Predist Walker (Suffolk, Va.) and junior Devon Brown (Laurel, Md.) ran a 39.71 to win the MEAC title, setting MEAC and school records in the process.
Anderson, Brown and Reggie Dixon will also compete in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash at the IC4A meet; Anderson finished second in the 100-meter dash at the MEAC Outdoor Championships with a 10.42, while his 21.48 in the 200-meter dash was good enough for third.
Reggie Dixon finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.61.
Walker, the MEAC champion in the 110-meter hurdles with a school-record 13.83, will also compete in that event this weekend.
Junior Damon Dixon (Great Falls, Va.) will also compete in the 110-meter hurdles, along with the high jump. Damon Dixon finished fourth in the high jump at the MEAC Outdoor Championships with a height of 2.03 meters.
The Pirates finished seventh in last year's IC4A Outdoor Championships with 31 points. Reggie Dixon won the 100-meter dash title with a 10.44, while also anchoring the 4x100-meter relay team that won the gold with a time of 40.64.
Walker finished second in the 110-meter hurdles after running a 13.96.
The Lady Pirates will have the weekend off and are not scheduled to compete again until the NCAA Division I East regional in Greensboro, N.C. on May 27-29.
