VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – For the third time this season, Hampton University senior Francena McCorory has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.
McCorory (Hampton, Va.) won the 300-meter dash with a time of 37.18 at the Terrier Invitational in Boston, Mass. this past Friday and Saturday. She also anchored the 4x400-meter relay team to a first-place finish with a season-best time of 3:46.26.
The defending NCAA indoor champion in the 400-meter dash was also named MEAC Athlete of the Week on Jan. 13 and Jan. 20.
Maryland-Eastern Shore senior Allodin Fothergill was named MEAC Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.
The Lady Pirates will return to action on Friday and Saturday, when they head to New York, N.Y. for the Armory New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
