LADY PIRATES RELEASE 2010 VOLLEYBALL SCHEDULE

2010 Schedule

HAMPTON, Va. -- The Hampton University volleyball team, under the direction of four-year coach Pedro Gonzalez, released its 2010 schedule on Thursday. The Lady Pirates will try to improve upon their record (9-19, 4-6 MEAC) from last year. 

The Lady Pirates will open up with hosting the Tiny Laster Memorial on Aug. 27-28. The participants are South Carolina State, Maryland-Eastern Shore, Bryant University and Wofford University. Hampton will then welcome Norfolk State to Holland Hall on Sept. 1.

The William& Mary Invitational will be held on Sept. 3 -4, where they will be playing against American University, William & Mary and Campbell University. The University of Buffalo Tournament will be held on Sept. 10 -11; the Lady Pirates will be competing against St. Johns, Buffalo and Binghamton.

On Sept. 17-18, the Lady Pirates will be in Orangeburg, S.C. when they will participate in the South Carolina State University-Spike Fest, before heading to Durham, N.C. on Sept. 24-25 to compete in the North Carolina Central University Tournament. 

The Lady Pirates will attend the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore Tournament in Princess Anne, Md. on Oct. 1-2. 

Conference play begins on Oct. 8, when the Lady Pirates will host the Lady Hornets of Delaware State University. The Lady Pirates will host Coppin State on Oct. 10, Maryland-Eastern Shore on Oct. 15, Morgan State on Oct. 22 and the last home game will be against the Lady Bison of Howard University on Nov. 5. 

Hampton will travel to Howard on Oct. 17, Delaware State on Oct. 24, Coppin State on Oct. 29, Maryland-Eastern Shore on Oct.31 and Morgan State on Nov. 7. The final game of the regular season will be on Nov. 10 when the Lady Pirates will travel across the water to Norfolk, Va. to compete against the Lady Spartans of Norfolk State.
