VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Hampton University senior
Michael Freeman was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference office.
Freeman (Alexandria, Va.) posted back-to-back double-double performances with 17 points and 10 boards against Florida A&M on Jan. 25 and 13 points and 10 rebounds against Delaware State on Saturday to aid the Pirates with a 1-1 mark last week.
He also averaged 2.0 blocks and 2.0 steals last week.
Reggie Holmes of Morgan State was named MEAC Player of the Week, while DeWayne Jackson, also of Morgan State, was named Rookie of the Week.
