Terriers Invitational & Captain's Invitational meet notes
HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University men’s and women’s track & field teams will be competing in three different meets this Friday and Saturday, the next-to-last weekend of the indoor regular season.
The Pirates will head to State College, Pa. for the Penn State National Open on Friday and Saturday in the Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track, while the Lady Pirates will split themselves between two meets; while part of the team competes in the Terriers Invitational hosted by Boston University on Saturday, the rest of the team will hit the Freeman Center in Newport News, Va. for the Captain’s Invitational hosted by Christopher Newport University.
Part of the itinerary for the Terriers Invitational will include a special 300-meter dash race set up for senior
Francena McCorory (Hampton, Va.) to attempt setting a new record.
Each team won a distance medley relay title this past weekend at the UNC Classic, accounting for the lone titles for the Pirates and Lady Pirates. This weekend will mark the first time the Lady Pirates have competed in the Terriers Invitational, while the Pirates and Lady Pirates competed in the Penn State National Open and Captain’s Invitational last season.

Predist Walker (Suffolk, Va) also won the 60-meter hurdles, running a 7.87.
Aaron Anderson (Fort Washington, Md.) finished second in the 200-meter dash with a 21.61, while former Pirate Brandon Lynch ran a 1:20.51 to finish second in the 600-meter run.
