VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Hampton University senior Francena McCorory was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week, as announced on Wednesday by the conference office.

McCorory (Hampton, Va.) had a hand in winning two event titles at the Father Diamond Invitational, winning the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.10, before helping the 4x400-meter relay team win the gold with a time of 3:53.21.

McCorory also finished second in the 60-meter dash in 7.64.

Maryland-Eastern Shore’s Allodin Fothergill was named MEAC Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

The Pirates and Lady Pirates will return to action on Saturday, when they travel to the Big Apple for the New York City Gotham Cup.
