PIRATES GOLF FINISHES 13TH AT NORTH-SOUTH INVITATIONAL

JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – The Hampton University men’s golf team finished 12th out of 12 teams on Tuesday in the Butler University Don Benbow North-South Invitational at Jacksonville Beach Golf Course with a two-day score of 663. Christopher Frazier was the highest-finishing Pirate, coming in 65th with a 19-over 159.
Sidney Fields finished in a tie for 66th after firing a 160 to finish +20, while freshman Arturo Saro shot a 32-over 172 to finish 72nd. Jared Williams and Javier Lopez each finished at +35 to come in tied for 73rd.
Florida-Gulf Coast won the team tournament title with a two-day score of 544 – good enough for 7-under par. Appalachian State’s Casey Johnson was the best individual finisher, firing a two-day score of 133 and beating Bethune-Cookman’s Willie Mack in a playoff.
