VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Hampton University junior Predist Walker was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week on Wednesday, as announced by the conference office.
Walker (Suffolk, Va.) won two event titles this past Saturday in the season-opening Navy Invitational in Annapolis, Md. After taking the long jump title with a distance of 6.98 meters, Walker took the 60-meter hurdles race with a time of 7.90.
That time provisionally qualified Walker for the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships.
Howard University senior Landria Buckley was named MEAC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week for her performance at the Bucknell Bison Opener.
