KENT, Ohio –
Hampton University junior Predist Walker continued his hot start to the season over the weekend, winning an event title at the Golden Flash Gala, hosted by Kent State University Friday and Saturday at the Kent State Field House.

Walker (Suffolk, Va) won the long jump on Friday, his second title in that event this season, by jumping 7.25 meters. On Saturday, Walker followed that up by finishing second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.06 – after recording the top preliminary time with a 7.97.

Junior Aaron Anderson (Fort Washington, Md.) finished second in the 60-meter dash with a 6.89, with Justin Battle (Somerset, N.J.) finishing third with a time of 6.94. Anderson also ran a 21.94 in the 200-meter dash to finish fourth.

David Kimani (Kenya) finished third in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 8:51.60, while he also ran a 4:20.60 in the mile run to finish fourth. Mike Davenport (Pleasantville, N.J.) finish ninth in the mile run with a time of 4:31.21, before also finishing ninth in the 3,000-meter run with a 9:16.42.

Lawrence Campbell (Peekskill, N.Y.) finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a 1:53.84. Campbell also anchored the 4x400-meter relay team, which finished eighth with a 3:21.81. Anderson, Lamar Veale (Chesapeake, Va.) and Cedric Rainey (Richardson, Texas) were also on the squad.

Damon Dixon, with 4,884 points, finished sixth in the men’s heptathlon. He finished a personal-best second in the long jump portion of the competition, jumping 6.83 meters, while also finishing third in the 60-meter dash with a 7.19.

Stephen Ramsey (Rochester, N.Y.) finished 15th in the heptathlon with 4,450 points, while Veale recorded 4,392 points to finish 18th.

The Pirates will return to action after the New Year, when they head to Fairfax, Va. on Jan. 9 for the Father Diamond Invitational hosted by George Mason Invitational.
