HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton University senior Terry Thornton has been named to the All-American Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association in the 400-meter hurdles.
Thornton (Petersburg, Va.) is the only Pirate to be named to either the men's or women's

All-American Team. He finished sixth in the 400-meter hurdle finals on Friday during the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Joining Thornton on the 400-meter hurdles All-American Team are: NCAA champion Jeshua Anderson of Washington State; South Carolina's Jussi Heikkila; Justin Boyd of Baylor; Justin Gaymon of Georgia; USC's Kai Kelley; Nick Robinson of Texas A&M; Auburn's Reuben McCoy, who finished second in the NCAA finals; and Baylor's Robert Griffin.
