Hampton, Va. – Hampton University men's basketball coach Kevin Nickelberry is ranked among the Division I head coaches in the game today. Nickelberry is the only coach from the MEAC on the list at No. 15 out of the top 25 coaches ranked.

"I feel very honored to be named on a list with coaches such as Anthony Grant- VCU, Andy Kennedy-Mississippi, Brian Gregory-Dayton, and Frank Martin-Kansas State just to name a few. These are all great coaches and to be at No. 15 on this list means a lot to me and it says a lot about the work that I have put in hear at Hampton," said HU's head coach Kevin Nickelberry.

Coach Nickelberry guided the Pirates to an 18-12 mark this past season and a 10-2 mark in MEAC conference play which was good enough for a second play finish, which is a move up from last season. In two years Nickelberry has guided the Pirates to an overall record of 33-28. The Pirates 18 wins this season was their best in four years.

"I owe the honor to my players and my assistant coaches because with out them none of this would be possible. The players give 100% each and every night and I have them to thank for all of my success since I have been here at Hampton and all of my continued success here at my home by the sea," said Nickelberry.
