PIRATES TIED FOR EIGHTH AFTER FIRST ROUND OF SSU FALL INVITATIONAL

SAVANNAH, Ga. – The Hampton University men's golf team is tied for eighth place in the Savannah State University Tiger Fall Invitational after Monday's first round. The Pirates sit tied with tournament host Savannah State with a score of 330.
Senior Christopher Frazier paced the Pirates on Monday, shooting an 8-over par 79 to sit in a tie for 14th. Senior Jared Williams shot an 11-over 82 to come in tied for 26th, while Javier Lopez was tied for 34th after shooting an 84 on the par-71 course.
Arturo Saro came in tied for 36th after the first round after shooting a 14-over 85, while Geffory Napper shot an 18-over 89 to sit in a tie for 45th.
South Carolina State led the team standings after the first round with a score of 304.
