Dear Coaches,
Greeting from Hampton University, “Our Home by the Sea”. The HAMPTON RELAYS are Back! The Hampton University Men’s & Women’s track programs would like to invite you and your team to the “Hampton Relays” held on Saturday, April 11, 2009. The meet will be held on the campus of Hampton University at Armstrong Stadium on our brand new track facility in the city of Hampton, Virginia. We here at Hampton University are excited to be bringing this historical meet back to our campus.
The Hampton Relays was an exciting meet for many colleges and universities especially many HBCU’s held here on campus dating back 50 plus years, however, the meet hasn’t been held since 2002. We decided to take break from hosting the meet to allow us time to make changes such as, changing the date, discontinuing the high school sections and building of a new track facility. Well we did all three and we are ready for the Hampton Relays to be an exciting meet in 2009!
This year we will be inviting several 2008 Olympic Finalist and many world-class runners that train here in Virginia and throughout the U.S.
We look forward to seeing you and your teams compete 2009! The meet schedule will be posted at
