VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Hampton University junior
Quanneisha Perry was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, as announced by the conference office.
Perry (Decatur, Ga.) grabbed 20 rebounds, recorded three steals and one block in two conference wins last week. Offensively, Perry added 37 points and two assists. Perry scored 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds on Feb. 1 at Maryland-Eastern Shore for her third straight double-double, before adding 20 points and six rebounds on Saturday at South Carolina State.
The Lady Pirates (11-10, 7-3 MEAC) have won five straight games and sit third in the conference.
North Carolina A&T senior Lamona Smalley was named MEAC Player of the Week, while her teammate Amber Calvin was named MEAC Rookie of the Week.
